I’ve heard it tastes like extra sugary flat soda (not too scary), yet others have said it’s awful and they can’t keep it down. What did you think of it?

What should optimal levels be :
When you wake?
After eating?
Before you go to bed?
etc…

I was just tested for gestational diabetes and don’t actually know if I have it yet. I won’t find out until next week. In the meantime what are the symptoms if your blood sugar is high and what can I do to help it since I don’t have/may not even need insulin? Thanks!!!
What sucks is that those are almost all symptoms of pregnancy too. I can’t tell what is causing what.
Yeah, some people are apparently being jerks because from what I have read these are all symptoms and I don’t know why someone is giving them thumbs down. I appreciate all the answers… so nothing I can do about high sugar without taking insulin??? I guess that makes sense otherwise diabetics could do something besides take insulin…

Does anyone know if anyone is researching/ beta testing or publishing data on the use (experimental use is fine- I don’t expect practical use data) of insulin pumps in pets? Prefer feline data.

I know the cost of pump & supplies so that’s not what I am looking for.
Do not need current protocol in feline diabetes management, looking for information beyond that.

I am looking for research papers, or medical guidelines if such a thing exists.

thanks for any advice

A few months ago, I was diagnosed as a diabetic following a series of blood tests (in which my blood sugar count was consistently more than 13 mmol/L.

I was started on medication (Metformin, 500mg, twice a day). Based on a hunch, I got myself one of those blood sugar measuring devices, stopped taking the medication for a couple of days and started taking my own readings.

This revealed my fasting (of 12 hours) blood sugar to be 5.6 mmol/L, two hours after breakfast to be 6.7 mmol/L, two hours after lunch to be 6.5 mmol/L and 6.9mmol/L after dinner and before bedtime. If I’m to believe what I’ve been reading, this is a normal blood sugar level of a person without diabetes.
