I have all of the symptoms of diabetes:
excessive thirst
frequent urination
irritability
blurry vision
fatigue
excessive hunger
I got tested for diabetes after fasting for 8 hours, but the test came back negative. Is it possible to test negative for diabetes, but its acutally a bad test? I am just wondering what is causing these symptoms if its not diabetes. Thanks!
I’m in the process of getting a diagnoses for PCOS. I have many of the symptoms but this question, I’m focusing on sugar levels and insulin resistance.
I have a blood test, part of which was to look at my blood sugar levels and they came back normal.. would this rule out insulin resistance or could I still have insulin resistance?
I’m obese, and I don’t eat a lot, and yet I’m still putting on weight so I feel I must have insulin resistance that’s related to PCOS but I’m not sure since I have normal blood sugar levels.
MY HUSBAND IS TYPE 2 DIABETES AND HIS BLOOD SUGAR DURING THE DAY IS NORMAL BUT AS SOON AS HE GETS UP HIS BLOOD SGUAR IS REALLY HIGH…THEY SAY IT MIGHT BE DAWN SYMPTOM AND HIS BODY DOESNT GET RID OF SUGAR WHEN HE IS SLEEP…ANY BODY KNOWS HOW HE CAN GET RID OF THIS PROBLEM
I’m 38 weeks pregnant (I’ll be 39 on Saturday). I’ve been measuring progressively bigger at each appointment for a while now, but I never thought it was a problem until my doctor ordered an ultrasound at 35 weeks. At that point I began to worry about his size. I was only 9lbs3oz when I was born, but they had to break my collar bones to get me out because my shoulders were too wide for my mothers birth canal. So I began to worry that my baby girl may get too big for me and my doctor started talking about a c-section. The ultrasound said my baby girl was only 7lbs2oz, but that her amniotic fluid was on the high side of normal.
Then last week my doctor said he wanted to do another ultrasound and this time it came back that she was 8lbs12oz. Also there is now too much amniotic fluid and my doctor said that is generally a sign of birth defects or gestational diabetes in the mother. We tested for gestational diabetes a while back and it came back negative. My doctor says it’s possible that I developed gestational diabetes after we did the glucose test. Yet, he doesn’t want to test again. He’s worried that if my water breaks at home it could flush out the umbilical cord and cut off her oxygen and blood supply.
My son is currently being tested for epilepsy. He had his first 2 seizures last week, on 2 different days. In between, and every day since he looks 100% healthy. You’d have no idea that he might have a condition. However, when you look at my husband and I you’d wonder what our problem is – haggard looks, eyes staring at him, overly cautious about his every movement, clearly sleep deprived, etc. We just can’t seem to shake the fact that he might have another seizure at any given moment?
Our faith plays a big part of this – which we’re working on daily, but I’m just wondering how other parents deal with similar “invisible” health problems? Some children have diabetes, or even autism (sometimes is invisible.)
I’ve been told to take Glucophage pills. My doctor prescribed them. But I don’t want to. If I drop my weight from 184 (now) to about 160 (over a period of about four months), and exercise hard every day, will my glucose readings after a 10-hour fast read within normal range? (It tests at about 150 mg/dl now each morning).
Have YOU conquered the disease by changing your own lifestyle?
I’m supposed to test right at 1 hour after eating
I lost track of time and measured my lunch reading at 1 hour 15 minutes
will it make much of a difference in the reading that I get at 1 hour and at 1 hour 15 minutes? and if so will the reading be higher or lower?
