Question by Cookie: Effect of exercise in Diabetes 2?
I have read so many times, on the power of exercise in controlling diabetes 2. But I want to know more what exactly exercise does concerning this topic. Does exercise improves insulin sensitivity???? Does exercise lower blood sugar levels?
I asked you this, because today, I measured my sugar levels before and after exercising an -to my surprise- the number was the same. It made me doubt if it really did have any effect on my sugar levels.

Exercise tends to work over the long run. You might get a quick drop in blood sugar levels, or you might not. But the real results are when you’ve built up more muscle mass and have improved your cardiovascular health.

You need to exercise at least 3 times a week, at least 30 minutes each time. You will see results after a couple of weeks, your blood sugars will be consistently lower if you eat the same way as before you started. You will also look at food temptations and realize that you’ll have to exercise another hour in order to burn off that bit of candy, and it’s usually not worth it.
