My 5 yr old son and 4 yr old daughter have been showing signs of diabetes and recently got their A1c test done. Both came back normal but they are still having high glucose readings. Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts.
I am a Type I, diagnosed in the last year so my dr wants me to test the kids when they wake up, it’s usually 160. Also to test them when they don’t feel well which is usually before dinner. My son test around 180-200 before we eat dinner and that is 5-6 hrs after his lunch at school.
Ok so the dr said today their A1C were 5.5 and 5.2 but are still sending them to an endocrynologist.

Okay so I am 13 weeks pregnant….my sister got gestational diabetes while pregnant with her children and it never went away so now she has it ..anyways I used to test my blood all the time b/c she had the stuff and what not my blood sugars were always 85-99 if i ate anything even candy and what not…so I decided to test my blood today for the first time while pregnant and my blood sugars were 115 (which I know is normal) But that is high for me I have never been that high after I eat (not right after b/c your suppose to wait an hour) But anyways if that went up like that is that b/c I am pregnant or do you think I could get it too?

Diabetes question please?

Lately I have been feeling extremely dizzy, especially while standing up at work. I sometimes black out. I lasts for 15-20 minutes, and it’s usually followed by a headache for the rest of the day. I pee constantly, but I could also blame that on having a child not too long ago. Anyway, I have a brother and a sister both with diabetes. My sister suggested I test my blood sugar. It was about 5 pm, and I hadn’t eaten anything since around 11am. I tested with her meter and it was 177, which threw up a warning sign. She had an extra meter, and told me to take it with and keep testing and recording until I go see the doctor, which is this Friday. I tested before I went to bed which was around 10 and I got 99. I tested this morning before breakfast and got 99. Why was the one last night so much higher? Could it be the different meter? I’m sure there’s nothing wrong with it. The one that said 177 was her meter that she uses all the time, and the one I have is just her back up one. Any suggestions? Serious answers only please. no “go to the doctor” I AM! =]

Did you have to fast for the test. Also tell me what exactly what happened the day of the test. Please describe. I thank you in advance for answering.

GESTATIONAL DIABETES, PLEASE HELP!?

I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes.

My doctor put me on a diet and told me to monitor my sugar level 4 times a day, which I do and my sugar level is not abnormal at all. Which is very strange, its not elevated whatsoever when I prick my finger and test my blood. But I however failed my glucose screening.

My question is to those ladies who had gestational diabetes, did it effect your babies in anyway? Do they test the baby when the baby is born? Do they drive the poor child crazy with the testing? How fast did it go away after you had the child.
