Question by : high blood sugar, but no symptoms!?
my blood test results showed that my blood sugar level was really high after fasting (155), i didnt see that coming, though i’m overweight and always wondered if i could develop diabetes… but the thing is i’ve never had any symptoms of diabetes, not even one of them !
i’m gonna call my doctor and ask him, but he’s not here today, and i just wanna know if its possible to be diabetic if u dont have the symptoms, but ur blood sugar level is high?
and btw i’m 19 years old, i’m overweight (maybe obese, cuz i’m 83 kg, 1.68 m), and my father has diabetes

Question by Giggles-for-life: I Have A Lot of the Symptoms of High Blood Sugar…Does This Mean I Have Diabetes?
I have many of the symptoms of high blood sugar, and have probably started noticing them about a year ago. My vision sometimes feels like I cannot focus on things, and I often get this dizziness/hazy feeling. My hands/fingers often get tingly. This is the newest symptom I’ve noticed, but I feel thirsty more often, and my urine is a lot darker than it used to be.
I am 19 years old, and underweight. I have always been thin, but developed an eating disorder when I was about 13, and for many years, did not eat enough (I wasn’t completely starving myself, but ate like a person on a diet should, even though I was underweight). Even before this though, I have always been thin, and have had a difficult time gaining and keeping weight on.

Manifestation of diabetes generally appears the same as the signs of other illnesses. The only symptoms that are one-of-a-kind to diabetes are not generally apparent without extensive medical testing. However, this does not mean there are no signals of the disease that you should be looking out for. Diabetes can start to show signs of itself in a number of ways. This article will talk about some of the primary signs of this illness.
One of the most recognizable symptoms of diabetes is fatigue. Yes, fatigue is a sign of an array of issues.

Question by Vi: High blood sugar, diabetes symptoms, but not diabetic?
I’ve had problem with sugars in my blood for years, I’m only 20 and not overweight or sick with any illness, past few years I’ve suffered with fatigue and has gotten worse past 4 months so i did a blood test after fasting. The doctor said my sugar was high but I’m not diabetic and said i should just come back and get tested every year. then he said all i need to do is take vitamin B.
Why do I have high blood sugar though? it’s making me sick. I eat healthy, but i feel dizzy, sick and fatigued all the time, i go to the bathroom at least 15 times a day and have just been diagnosed with astigmatism in my eyes (my eyesight is very blurred)
Do you think I should go see some other doctor? what do you think? why is my sugar so high if I’m not diabetic
the doctor i saw wasn’t any good, the clinic sees a patient as fast as they can then gets them out the door because they get paid a lot for everyone they see (here in Australia)
He didn’t tell me why my blood sugar was high, why would it be?
I know there’s a better clinic I can go to that also have a diabetes centre in the same place with better doctors, I’ll go there if i don’t feel better in a few days..

In a recent study, it was estimated that about 24 million Americans suffer from diabetes. Based on the information from CDC, however, one-quarter to one-third do not even know it. So how many people out there are currently unaware that they are diabetic? Surely, one of the major factors is the absence of apparent symptoms. This is a feature of both prediabetes as well as the initial phases of type 2 diabetes.
Since the initial warning indications of diabetes are understated, a lot of people suffering from the health condition are not even aware that they have diabetes until years later. This is particularly the case with Type 2 diabetes or a type of diabetes that is apparent in adulthood, which usually does not have any diabetes symptoms at all.

The symptoms of type 1 diabetes are often not easy to recognize and many people live with it for a long time before becoming aware that they are diabetes sufferers.
Type 1 diabetes is also known as insulin dependant diabetes, diabetes mellitus and / or juvenile diabetes. It is a chronic, i.e. lifelong, disease that accounts for approximately ten per cent of total diabetes cases in Europe and North America. It is an autoimmune disorder that occurs when the pancreas is unable to produce sufficient insulin to regulate blood sugar levels appropriately.

Juvenile diabetes or Type 1 diabetes is common among children. Every year, around 13,000 new cases of Juvenile diabetes are reported in America. True to its name, it mostly attacks the children but adults as well come into its hold.
Diabetes is a disease where pancreas is unable to secrete enough insulin, or the insulin produced by the body is not used properly, giving rise to high level of sugar in the blood. There are mainly two types of diabetes. Type-1 is also known as juvenile diabetes, and usually starts at early age. In this type of diabetes, immune system of the body attacks and destroys the pancreatic cells, and hence, pancreas can no longer produce insulin. In type-2, liver, muscle and fat cells do not properly utilize the insulin.

Unfortunately one in every 700 children of school going age is suffering from diabetes. According to a research, it has been proved that this ratio will increase to a good amount in coming years. Most parents are not able to spot when the disease has already started in their children. The worst part is that most of the symptoms of diabetes are treated as normal.
Most people are not able to identify this disease in their children because the symptoms do not appear all at once. There are possibilities that a particular symptom appear at present and the other may take about some months to appear.
